Before transforming the cut and textured silver lichen into a unique item of jewellery or silverware, the plate has been sooted using a candle flame. The lichen is then arranged on a printers press before an impression is taken onto high quality Fabriano paper.

The nature of this process makes the print run either one off or very short edition. There are variations within the edition due to hand placed plates and shade variation within the smoke print.
